Ways to Help - Daytime Volunteers
Office volunteers
We can use help with data input, mailings, and answering phones. Typical office volunteer opportunities are for 2-3 hours once a week or more often, if your schedule allows. Our office is open 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. For information about daytime needs of the Nightwatch staff, call (206) 323 4359 or email Pastor Rick Reynolds or Ann Sakaguchi at ann@seattlenightwatch.org.
Senior Friends
Our apartment building, located at 302 14th Ave. S. in Seattle, is a permanent home to 24 low-income seniors and disabled people. Rents are kept low thanks to the support of donors and frugal management.
Many of the tenants are vulnerable and infirm. Some are socially isolated. All need some TLC.
| What an opportunity for personal ministry! Volunteers
can be matched with people in the building for friendly
visits, trips to the store or other errands. Our goal
is to create relationships -- friendships
-- that are mutually rewarding. Ideal volunteer time
commitment as a senior friend would be 1-2 hours once
a month or more. |
To be matched with a resident, call us at (206) 860 4296 or email ann@seattlenightwatch.org.
Special Skills
We have needs for help in a variety of projects, large and small. Carpenters, painters, electricians, cleaners, plumbers - all skills are needed and appreciated! Call us at (206) 323 4359 or email ann@seattlenightwatch.org.
Committee Membership
Volunteers assist by serving on committees that report to the Nightwatch Board of Directors.
Assist with program design, fund-raising, special events, care for the building. Call us at (206) 323 4359 or email ann@seattlenightwatch.org.
Board of Directors
Operation Nightwatch is governed by an independent non-profit Board of Directors. These 12 to 20 men and women represent a cross-section of Nightwatch supporters and volunteers from a variety of churches and business experience.
The Board has ultimate oversight of programs and resource management. Each member is expected to contribute time and money for the support of the work, as well as enlisting others to help support the work financially and practically. Contact us if you'd like more information (including the application process) about joining our board of directors. Call us at (206) 323 4359 or email ann@seattlenightwatch.org.
